Over the next 12 to 18 months, United Airlines will be integrating with Continental Airlines to form one monster domestic airline. This means that only one airline carrier will survive and those who were previously frequent fliers of Continental will become frequent fliers of United. But even though everything will be condensing to one airline, there is still an opportunity to sign up for the Continental Airlines OnePass® Plus Card and take advantage of up to 40,000 bonus miles in your first year.
All new Continental Airlines OnePass® Plus Card approved applicants will receive 25,000 bonus miles after making just one purchase. 5,000 additional bonus miles can be earned by adding an authorized cardholder to your account within 2 months. Finally, 10,000 bonus miles are provided every year you spend at least $25,000 on your card, bringing the total bonus mileage count for year one to 40,000. Those 40,000 miles are more than enough for a round-trip domestic flight and possibly two depending on how you use them.
Additional benefits every cardholder will receive are as follows:
- Priority Boarding to get on the airplane first
- Two Annual Presidents® Club Day Passes
- First Checked Bag Free
- Special Guest Privileges Through The Luxury Hotel & Resort Collection
- Premier Travel Protection Insurance
- Item 2Comprehensive Purchase Protection
- Item 3OnePass Plus Concierge Service
- Item 424/7 Customer Service Specialists
Two miles are earned with every dollar spent on the Continental Airlines OnePass® Plus Card when the purchase is for a Continental or United flight and one mile is earned with every dollar spent on all other purchases. A variable purchase APR of 14.24% is included and everyone who owns this card will have to pay a $95 annual fee. Chase has decided to waive that fee for the first year, giving you a chance to test-drive this card, free of charge.
With more than 5,800 flights a day, United airlines in conjunction with Continental will be a massive airline that you will probably fly at least a few times in your life. Should you end up flying more than just a few times and want to take advantage of a free flight offer with a great airlines rewards program, consider applying for the Continental Airlines OnePass® Plus Card.
