While good news for small business owners has been in short supply, the latest Wall Street Journal Economic Forecasting Survey does anticipate growth, albeit slow, in the second half of 2011. But the June forecast is less optimistic than the May forecast on both employment and GDP.

May’s prediction of a 12-month increase of 2.5 million jobs was down this month to a prediction of 2.2 million. Still, the predicted unemployment rate for December 2012 is 7.9 percent, down from a current rate of 9.1 percent.

Each day, technology becomes woven more deeply into the fabric of our culture. These rapid technological advances have overhauled the way we communicate and conduct business, bringing the entire world closer together and granting us immediate access to a bevy of goods and services from nearly anywhere in the world. In his article, Mariotti discusses the grace factor when it comes to celebrities and other high profile individuals.  All I have to say about that is, Humans are humans and grace is grace – until you do something that I really can’t tolerate. (Well, you know how we humans are: We have a lot of grace for our favorites and none for yours).

But Mariotti did make me think about the small business owner. What happe
